Prusik,
a newly formed affiliate of Taconic Investment Partners, selected Studio 5
Partnership to design their first project. A site in College Point
Queens, at 20th Street and 132nd Street, containing a nondescript
one-story industrial building with limited parking was selected for
development. The scheme required:

Demolition
of a portion of the existing building. · Design
of drive-up window opportunities.
· Increase
to parking as much as possible.
· Creation
of a new, more interesting facade. ·
Conversion
of its use from industrial to
retail.
Studio 5 developed the site plan which increased green space, added
parking and created a striking three-sided pylon sign which is visible in
all directions. The facade was covered with synthetic stucco to
create a fresh retail presence to encourage redevelopment
of the neighborhood.
