The Liberty Corners project was a competition to design the new Sanctuary for the growing Presbyterian congregation. Every Sunday the church would hold two services in their 1860 chapel and one in the recently built Multifunction Room. The goal was to build one new space to hold more than half of the congregation in a space properly designed for both traditional and modern services.

Our concept was to take elements from the 1860 design and reinterpret them using modern materials and construction. Emphasis was placed on natural light and the play of light within the space using and inverted bay window.

Our plan focused on creating a ceremonial approach to the Sanctuary with the open arcade leading worshipers into the low, formal entry built under the steeple.  Once the Sanctuary is entered, the space soars and provides an uplifting setting for worship.
