The Fair Lawn Recreation & Community Center, selected for NY Construction Magazine's "Best of 06", Award of Merit, was designed to replace two inadequate facilities which previously served several community based groups including the youth activities center, art studio, radio club and community theater.

This new facility includes a state of the art 170 seat auditorium, a high-school sized gymnasium which will double as an air conditioned emergency shelter. Facilities for children will include a complete table game area, computer game room, electronic games and a teen lounge.

Other amenities include a Senior Card Room, an all-weather walking track, facilities for an Art Studio, complete with storage bins for materials, and a full service radio club. The theater will include facilities previously lacking, including dressing rooms for men and women, backstage area to build and store sets, a complete sound and light booth as well as professional level stage area.
